Band Up! District and School Site Goals
Goal #1: Students will increase a minimum of one performance level per year on the CST. Those who are advanced will maintain that proficiency level.
Goal #2: All English learners will advance one level per year in English Language Proficiency as measured by the CELDT until they reach English proficiency.

The Accountability Pyramid has key elements for character education development and reinforcement. The following character traits are highlighted on the pyramid to help students be accountable for their schoolwork, behavior at school and home, and citizenship.

Each student has an Accountability Pyramid at school. Many parents attended the Accountability Pyramid Parent Training and received pyramids and CDs with information to help them implement the strategies at home. Please look for information in the future for more parent training opportunities.

Newman Knights Are College Bound

Each classroom has a college / university theme. Students will learn college awareness. They will get excited by learning the college chant, fight song, and other information. This opportunity allows for students to be exposed to information regarding college / university life.

Important Immunization Information
For the 2011-2012 school year, all students entering 7th through 12th grades will need proof of a Tdap booster (Pertussis booster) shot before starting school.
This requirement: (A) beginning July 2, 2011. (B) Can be met by receiving one of Tdap vaccine on or after the 7 birthday. (C) Applies to all public and private schools. (D) Does not affect students enrolled in summer school.
Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of Pertussis and meet a new school requirement. Adults are also advised to get a pertussis booster shot, if they haven't already, to protect themselves, their families and their students.
