Newman Elementary

About Us Home

About Us

Established in 1952, Newman Elementary School was named in honor of four generations of the Newman family who were pioneers in the Chino education system.  Mr. O.J. Newman, the family’s patriarch, was a constable and businessman. Ms. Genevieve Newman V. McCrossen and Ms. Florence Newman Toste were both educators, while Mr. Earl Newman served as a school board member.

Today, our outstanding staff happily supports students in kindergarten through sixth grade and emphasizes a culture that focuses on universal achievement and collaboration where all students THRIVE!

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SUKAINA HUSAIN

Assistant Principals have a critical role in our schools as they have the phenomenal opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, and families to ensure everyone has a positive experience on campus. They act as a bridge between school leadership and the community, providing leadership while building supportive relationships. If you have had the immense pleasure of meeting Assistant Principal James, then you know her heart beats loud and true for her students!

Third year is the charm and Assistant Principal James is excited to be serving the Newman community for the past three years. With a personal belief that all children need to be supported, mentored, and given the opportunity to THRIVE, AP James ensures that her time on campus is devoted to her Newman Knights and their families. We strongly encourage families to read AP James’ letter to the community to get an inside look into the devotion of this wonderful leader!
